Me bad! But still interested

Matt,

You ask if I endorsed Jon yet, well, no. I did not. I was not sure exactly what the process is so I clicked on the Volunteer tab on the web site and filled in my contact information. I signed up for emails and newsletters. I also signed up to put up a sign on my lawn. I do not have a blog, so did not click on that. I also contributed by joining the $20 club. I can see (from reviewing my original posting above) that I did a terrible job of explaining things, so I apologize for that. Hopefully this is more clear?

As to tools on this web site - that would be great!  My real concern, and the one that prompted this discussion topic, is that I am sure that others have done similar thing to me. I did not get any response - therefore I assume others did not either. Since politics are voluntary efforts (or should be for the most part), I can imagine that others might have gotten somewhat discouraged from the lack of responsiveness. Maybe some would get turned off and even bitter along the lines of "what? I am not good enough for him?" and then would turn anti. That is not good.

So, I bring it up here. I would have thought that there would be some staff who would be monitoring the links that were set up and who would be sure to contact people quickly (within 24-48 hours of clicking). Surely this early in the campaign there are still plenty of positions available for volunteers?

I am sure that Jon's staff has enough experience at these sorts of things to have organizations charts and lists of positions available? Maybe some vetting of people has to occur before trusting people to work in sensitive areas. Maybe some experience is required as well? But all of that can come AFTER a quick chat with the prospective volunteer? After all, that is probably the quickest way to find out what experience the prospective volunteer has and what interests them.

If you are part of the organization, could you pass these ideas on? I have had experience in other volunteer organizations and would be happy to chat with you or anyone else about such things. I have met Jon last April and would like to work towards his election as my governor beyong punching the button beside his name during voting day. How can I help more?
